These are some drawings I sketched as I studied various religions, philosophies, and sciences. They were inspired from deep meditation upon the principles of astrology, theosophy, Kaballah, and the tarot to name a few. They also represent my attempt to synthesize the many aspects of the many of the well known symbols: the flower of life, the tree of life, the mandala, the astrological wheel, the cube of space, the wheel.
I use them to help me understand relationships between various aspects of a system. I use them to learn how to look at things from different angles and viewpoints. I use them to understand centers and forms. I use them to see beauty in form. I use them to understand how sound might create forms. How forces work in harmony and maintain equilibrium. I use them to see the endless possibilities and relationships that can be created from a few principles. I use them as labyrinths and mazes. I wonder where I fit into the picture. I look for patterns and shapes. I count the levels or dimensions. I wonder how I would know where I am from any particular point. Would it look the same if I viewed it in a mirror? What lines could be used as a center of axis? What are the lines of symmetry acting as mirrors? Are there pyramids, cubes, spheres, stars, hexagons, octagons, squares, triangles? How many vertexes are there? How many lines meet at each vertex? How many edges does it have? How many faces does it have?
